My 2 long time casting apps haven't been playing nice with Fire Stick lately. I ended the aggravation and have taken another route when I want to watch videos from another device on it. If your stick has the space it might be an option.

I have enough room for a couple 720 movies, maybe 4 1080p shows. I use a wireless FTP server app on the stick (they have a free version) and an FTP client on the device (Total Commander on my tablet/phone and Filezilla on PC). It takes seconds to transfer a file so I put a couple on the stick and if I'm watching more than a couple I will delete the one I just watched and add the next before moving on to the 2nd one. It sounds clunky but not really more than some casting apps but once you get the hang of it it's not that bad and the setup is handy for transferring/archiving other stuff.
