Vertical mouse. $20. Saved my wrist using it at work all day.
It looks odd but it feels so much more natural. I even got a bunch of people at my office to buy one after they tried mine.
Edit: Here’s the link to the one I have for those interested.
Carpal Tunnel Be Gone
I have used this for about a year. It took about a week of constant use to get comfortable. This particular one is made for larger hands. I have the rechargeable version. The charge will last for at least an eight hour weekend session. Also, it works while charging. (keep your charging cable nearby during important games)
Since using this mouse, my carpal tunnel/tendonitis symptoms have nearly vanished
If you don't like it, shop around, I strongly endorse the vertical mouse design. Edit: added link for rechargeable
Here's a vertical mouse on amazon. They're pretty easy to find. Here's a keyboard like you're talking about.
It wasn't bad before, but I also own an Anker TM137G mouse so I know what ergonomic really feels like.
But what this does is prop up the other half of the hand. And since I have a damaged right hand, that's not a bad thing whatsoever. Yeah, it's a good upgrade alright.
Looks like its the same price on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Spectrum-Shifting-Personalized-Programmable/dp/B019OB663A/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542557146&sr=1-2&keywords=Logitech+-+G502

Pretty sure its the same one.
Yes, it is a track ball for that type of computer mouse. I own the same thing. Logitech Trackman Marble Mouse, Four-Button, Programmable, Dark Gray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001F42MKG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Mt25BbKWTVCK9
DPI means nothing really. It just means dots per inch, and correlates to sensitivity. A lot of professional CS:GO players play on 400-800 dpi, because a lower dpi means that they can make smaller aim adjustments much easier. However, since all games have a modifiable sensitivity, then DPI is just your overall preference across all games. Having a mouse with 400 DPI isn't going to give you a disadvantage/advantage over a 3200 DPI mouse. The only thing that matters is the build shape for your playstyle(claw grip, palm grip, hybrid), sensor(usually optical vs laser), and weight.
Two mouse recommendations I have are the Zowie FK1, and the mouse I am currently using which is the Logitech G703. If you can, try to go to a computer store where you can try out a few to see if they feel right right to you. There really is no need to fret over DPI.
My pick is the Logitech G502 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019OB663A/
The Spectrum version has RGB, the Core is blue only. I've been using it since the Core came out (no RGB upgrade for me yet) and love it.
There's also a 3rd party charging dock for those that prefer to save like a hundred bucks. I have it, and it works great.
KBDFans has it for cheaper but with shipping fees, so if you're in the keeb scene and you have an order already lined up with them, it may be worth ordering that way.
I've used a vertical mouse for a few years now. The button clicking is a little less stressful when your wrist is in a more natural state and isn't rotated to a downward position.
I use this bad boy. A LOT. Because my work laptop is also locked down so i cant get to reddit, amazon, facebook or slack. So I switch a monitor to my personal computer and my work laptop would time out even though i was keeping an eye on whatever process i had set up to run. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MTZY7Y4/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_HS7EYYF9GQRKPWP5ZD0S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I picked one up. $50 is a no-brainer and this is the lowest it's been according to camelcamelcamel: https://ca.camelcamelcamel.com/Logitech-Proteus-Spectrum-Tunable-910-004615/product/B019OB663A
Looks like OP submitted a referral link though.

Probably not something I would buy. Mice like this one are usually private labeled from about 30 different designs all coming from the same factory. They use the bare minimum as far as parts and components and 90% of the appeal comes from the photos. No mention of what sensor is being used, switches contained, or even if there is any on-board memory.
For a little more $ you can find a decent Logitech that will give you a MUCH better experience overall.

Same mouse on Amazon for those of us with Prime, or those that hate Newegg
edit- in stock november 27th apparently
Not to sound like an asshole but it currently retails for $129 on Amazon. You may want to consider lowering the price to get it sold.
I haven't used a mousepad in nearly 20 years.
I have also been using a Logitech Trackman for 20+ years so not needed (not the same one, but replace when needed, I LOVE this mouse).
There's also this for those who don't want the mousepad and who still want a way to charge their mouse without plugging it in:
I have it and love it for my wireless g502
I thought the MX Master is the newer one, also searching for the UPC you can get this for 52 on Amazon so not really 54% off
according to wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Logitech_products
the Performance MX released in 2009 and MX master released in 2015
Yeah, I used to avoid them but they've come a long way. Between my wireless mouse and keyboard, I'll never go back to wired. It's so much cleaner and nice not having cables on the desk.
Get something like this, and you'll never have to get the cable out again:
I bought one of these to avoid using micro usb, much cheaper than logitech's overpriced mousepad
The logitech g502 is incredible, I've been using it for a while now and its just too good especially the scroll wheel. amazon canada
In addition to what others are saying a few things I've done to help my wrist pain
Move main skill off of right mouse button
Changed to a more strict lootfilter so I am not picking up as much of the cheaper currencies. I usually only do this later in the league when I've accumulated a decent amount of currency. This obviously isn't much good for SSF players.
If you can getting an ergonomic mouse could help a lot if you can get used to them. I have a cheap one and it is just okay. It's pretty light which I find hard to game with but when my wrist pain is really bad it basically becomes non-existent when I use it. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Wireless-Vertical-Ergonomic-Optical/dp/B00BIFNTMC
The biggest thing is stretching. I have started doing quick wrist stretches whenever I'm loading into my hideout after a map or waiting for a boss to spawn/phase and doing longer sessions (5 minutes or so) every hour and it has probably helped more than anything. Just get into a habit
While this post has your attention, does anyone like this? I currently have a magnetic cable that switched between my kb and mouse, but I mean... who doesn't want a mouse dock?
I use a very thin mousepad and prefer the slick/hard finish to the cottony/bendy material. However, the type of mouse is the more important factor for me.
I use an ergonomic mouse so your hand is tilted sideways to keep your wrist at a more natural angle and you can easily rest your hand on the desk. I have this Anker mouse
Casual reminder that there's also a 3rd party charging dock for those who don't want to plug in all the time, but also want to save a hundred bucks by not buying the lightspeed mousepad. I have it, and it works great.
You can buy the Logitech Trackman Marble for really little, four buttons, no scroll, wired, but does the job and is really neat. I am currently using mine in my emulation station because you don't really need to scroll for that.
