I bought this one off amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LNGP8GQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Apparently they sell it at Target, too! You just need to remember to rub it in or it'll leave residue. It goes away instantly though if you massage it in. I was my hair about once a week now, and I have seriously thick/wavy/frizzy hair. This stuff helps so much.
My favorite in klorane but it’s too expensive for me to buy unless I see it half price at ultra’s 21 days or something. So, I’m currently using this non aerosol one I found on Amazon which I like a lot but you have to be careful applying.
Totally with you. I use this one and it works well imho. There isn’t residue that you can see, but it’s made with corn starch so if you touch your scalp you can feel the fine grains. blowpro Faux Dry Shampoo with Pure Protein Blend - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002QI83XK/
I LOVE the dry shampoo I use that’s made by Hair Dance. It’s not a spray so application is a bit messier (I prefer to put the powder on my hands and then apply it to my hair), but it works so well and it smells amazing (it has lavender in it). I used to treat myself to Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo when I had more disposable income (read: before kids lol), but I like the one from Hair Dance so much I don’t actually miss that expensive one (it does work very well though, so another good option if you don’t mind the cost). I have super fine blonde hair that looks greasy even if I showered that morning and haven’t done anything particularly strenuous, so I really put my dry shampoo to work and the Hair Dance one has never let me down. I like this one. Idk if it’s CGA though. You can get it and several other brands at Walmart, too. dry shampoo
Yeah, shampoo use will strip your scalp of oils, that's what it's meant to do, which is good in a way, but can be a bit of an issue if done every day cause your scalp needs those oils as well.
A conditioner/hair mask will still clean your hair and not strip those oils, which will help with keeping your scalp from drying out, which will result in better results for growing out your hair. Some people use conditioner, I prefer a mask personally as there's usually better benefits to a mask over conditioner.
For that issue of oiliness, pick up dry shampoo. It's meant for whenever throughout the day. If you find your hair is excessively oily, hit it with some dry shampoo, it'll absorb it and give off a nice scent! This is the one I use.
I use this mask. It's got a nice scent, not too overbearing.
You look pretty young so I think over time if you want to keep the long hair, these small little things will ensure you keep the hair you have and will keep it looking healthy and great. I started this kind of stuff later in life in my early 30's but it was funny when I was 25, people thought I was 35, now I'm 34 and people think Im 25. So this stuff just is great for keeping a great overall look you can be super confident in.
I switch between Batiste and Hair Dance which is a powder and avail on Amazon. It’s great for day 2 but day 3+ I need Batiste.

I just got this dry shampoo and it’s pretty darn good. I can go 2 or 3 days without washing. Yes, there’s a smidge of a white cast on my hair, but I think the volume I get makes it work it.
Dry Shampoo Volume Powder Natural... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075J6M915?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I’ve tried a bunch of different powders and always went back to Batiste, but it has alcohol so I kept searching. I think I’ll stick with this one for a while.
My hair gets oily quick, so I also have to wash it every other day. Even then, the roots are oily on day 2, so I use dry shampoo. I really like this one because one bottle lasts forever and the effects last a lot longer for me than other brands.
As far as crunchiness, I find it's a matter of figuring out how much gel or mousse to apply. I have a really hard time getting the crunchiness out without also ruining the curls, so I put just enough in before the point of it getting crunchy. Right out of the shower I scrunch in this Gel and let it dry. It's enough to give me hold and control frizz. If I put in too much, it'll get crunchy. My favorite mousse was discontinued a year ago, so I haven't found a replacement yet. Some brands are inherently crunch/sticky no matter how much I use.
It does tend to help your mood but getting it done in the first place can be a huge hurdle. If anyone out there is having trouble with it, I recommend washing the stinky areas (pits and crotch), reapplying deodorant, and putting in some dry shampoo.
I use this one https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B016DYBL40/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PTo-FbQM8QAVF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 i like it because it's gray so it's easier to blend into my brown hair than a white powder would be. But they also have a white powder if you have lighter hair.
I can only go 2 days because it gets oily quick. Dry shampoo is my best friend for day 2. I love this because it lasts so much longer than spray dry shampoo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015G7PPR4?tag=bfanamaria-20&ascsubtag=5034644%2C3%2C40%2Cd%2C0%2C0%2Cbf-hpp%2C0%3A0&th=1
I'm only halfway through the bottle and in this time span I would have already gone through 3-4 spray bottles. I find that rice starch based dry shampoos work best for me and don't cause build up.
Use a dry shampoo in between regular washings. Wash your hair 3 times a week, use dry shampoo in between. Batiste is a popular dry shampoo line
It takes some getting used to with straight, fine hair but I found a powder dry shampoo on Amazon that works great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015G7PPR4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
On non wash days, I section out my hair and powder it, brush it, and then use a straightener to smooth it out.
For the dry shampoo, if you actually want to use it not just right before you wash your hair (Which I definitely recommend because I can get away with washing my hair twice a week, it's a lifesaver if you sometimes live a busy life, and I use it even on freshly washed hair because I achieve volume I would never get without a blow dryer.) Then I would get pre-made dry shampoo here's the one I currently am using (But get the one for blondes if you're blonde)
The way I use it is I pour some on my oily areas like the back of my head and massage it in to distribute, flip my hair to the side, repeat, flip my hair to the other side, etc, until it no longer looks or feels oily and I have hair to the havens. If you don't have a ton of hair you might prefer a more precise application using a clean makeup brush. If there's any visible tint of the powder I brush it to distribute it.
Although the powder takes a bit longer to use than the spray, it's alcohol free, without all those awful chemicals, less drying, and lasts longer.
As for making your own there's a lot of recipes and most of them will probably work just as well as pre made ones. I just prefer them because they're scented and conveniently come in bottles with shakers.
For blondes:
Arrowroot powder (this is preferable over others)
Cornstarch
Baby powder
For ginger hair:
For deep red tones:
For brunettes:
For black or almost black hair:
If your hair looks too dull to your liking, brush it out more and apply a shine serum on the bottom half of your hair.
I've tried aerosol dry shampoos but never liked them so I use blowpro powder. It doesn't really have a scent and the applicator is really useful for the powder (until about 90% through and then it gets a little clogged). Other than that, though, I've really liked it.
This stuff is my absolute favorite. It's $13, but, it works really well and it's not a pain when it comes time to wash it out. I notice that a couple I have used need a little more scrubbing in the shower. This is not one of them! Gives me awesome volume for my flat hair on my no wash days. Good Luck in your search!
I'e tried store bought ones that are kind of meh. I've heard good things about Batiste (but have never tried it) if you don't care about going the indie route. It used to be harder to find, but I've seen it recently at Target & Walmart.
Plain 'ol arrowroot powder or baby powder usually works fine for me. I'll just sprinkle some throughout my hair, scrub it in with my fingers, then give it a few minutes to soak everything up.
