Yo guys, Steam link is $19.99 right now on Amazon if anyone's interested!!
I think the deal will end within 24 hours so be quick - saw it on the "today's deals" section.
I just placed my order (with a bunch of other stuff). Can't wait :D
For XBox controllers, you can get a single for $25-30 that uses 2.4 GHz and the same protocols that the Xbox uses. Also enables things like the audio pretty on the controller. Xbox controllers are not b bluetooh only, that's just the fallback.
Also FYI for anyone who is looking into getting a Steam Link, it is currently on sale for $20.00 on amazon.
I was on the fence but decided to pick one up today :)
Same price on Amazon in case you don't want to deal with GameStop.
Pretty typical sale price for this, so don't think you need to jump on it immediately if you're on the fence. We'll see this price again.
So the two big ones are HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, those are the only two consumer VR headsets that really shine right now. Rift is having a crazy summer sale right now, $400 on Amazon, which gets you the headset, camera sensors, and hand controllers.
Personally, I have the HTC Vive due to some issues I have with Oculus's business platform. Namely, they're owned by Facebook and are trying to pull a console-esque exclusive games deal.
But, personal qualms aside, I can't really recommend the Vive for $800 over the Rift for $400. Especially if you're playing seat games like flight simulators, that's the much much better option right now.
I'm super into VR so any questions feel free to ask away.
It's the Xbox wireless adapter for Windows. Unfortunately the Elite controller, for all its features, does not support a Bluetooth connection (there are newer Xbox controllers that do and a new version is in the works that supports it). The play and charge kit does come with a really long cable so if the controller dies, I can plug it in and continue to charge it while playing.
You can buy 1 month and cancel it a week later, making it an even smaller investment ($15).
Otherwise, the Amazon one is the best deal ($40 for 90d + extra CC), followed by the Origin one ($30 for 60d + extra CC). These also sometimes go on sale, so watch them around black friday/cyber monday and christmas. I think I bought my Origin a year or two ago for just over $20.
his one just charges you $5 for an armor set and mount you'll probably not use.
If you want to go the ranged pistoleer route, you could try Smuggler/Gunslinger or Bounty Hunter/Mercenary (of the two the Hunter is arguably easier, since it can wear heavier armour, has some limited self-healing, and doesn't rely on the "cover" mechanic as much as the Smuggler).
If you want ranged-with-a-lightsaber, there's the Jedi Consular/Sage and Sith Inquisitor/Sorcerer, both of which play something like a KOTOR Consular - you carry a lightsaber, but in combat you rely on your Force powers.
If you want to get into full-on saber-swinging, I'd recommend a Jedi Knight/Guardian or Sith Warrior/Juggernaut - they're both all about laying down the beating with the glowstick, and they're new-player-friendly, with lots of survivability (their dual-wielding cousins - Sentinels and Marauders - require a lot more babysitting).
If you want to check out the game, check out the weekly referral post for a referral link - gets you a week of subscriber-level access and some goodies. If you then decide you want to drop some cash, the current Amazon bundle is a pretty good deal - 90 days of subscription, plus some bonus cartel coins for 40 bucks.
Here is the US Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y2GDXMC It's not available for preorder yet, but you can ask to be notified. It lists release date as July 4th, even if they don't do preorders, I'd still probably get it from them sooner than via DR.
1) There's better options; that bundle basically charges you $5 for a mount/cosmetic gear and some XP boosts you'll get 3 of within an hour or two of doing story.
2) It activates when you buy it. The other (better) options off Amazon and Origin give you a code you enter - sub starts when you redeem it.
3) Best deal is $40 for 3 months playtime off Amazon as it gives you extra free cartel coins that you can use to buy things you really want.
4) If you are trying SWtOR I'd suggest playing it free for a bit - see if you like it before spending money on a sub.
A relative of mine bought the Rift two weeks ago in the States, arrived in 3 business days. I don't know where you're looking, but Oculus has them in stock and Amazon has them in stock. Oculus Rift + Touch
You may be surprised but the third party straps have way more durability and better feel than the elite one. For example I got this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YR8LFH3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_K9BG0XSC2X6BM8E5Z2NG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 and it’s amazing. No more pressure on my face and it feels so comfortable and high quality that even the $100 DAS feels less comfort than this one.
Having a referral code brings the Oculus Rift %10 down to $314 USD (+$30.62 CA tax totals up to $344.72 USD).
Also $349 on Amazon.
Edit: I don't have any more referrals left, sorry! (I'm sure someone will have one though, maybe comment or check out the VR Discord #deals-chat channel to see who still has referrals left?)
I’m new to VR with my Rift S but I bought a cable pulley system. It comes with hooks or sticky hooks and you can hang them on the ceiling and behind you some. I have mine set up to be behind me a bit and I have free motion in my entire playspace without feeling the cable much at all. It’s designed really well and highly recommended.
This is the one I got from Amazon, Kiwi branded.
[Pro Version] KIWI design VR Cable Management, 6 Packs Retractable Ceiling Pulley System for HTC Vive/HTC Vive Pro/Oculus Rift S/PS VR/Microsoft MR/Samsung Odyssey VR Accessories (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VQZYN3M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_e9LgFbWR23QM9
Amazon does not appear to have any Steam Links of their own in stock, at least on the US Amazon site. All Steam Links for sale are sold by third parties.
you're MUCH better off getting the xbox wireless adapter than using any bluetooth adapter.
the xbox adapter uses a proprietary wifi that has lower latency and is much more stable. also you can connect i think up to 4 controllers using just the one dongle
like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Adapter-Windows-one/dp/B00ZB7W4QU
I've seen them sell for as low as $22
Most people lately have been recommending the BoboVR M2 halo strap, which is a newer strap distinguished by two "arms" that provide additional support on top of your head. I have it and find it comfy after some adjusting, and nicer looking.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YR8LFH3
I could be wrong but what you shared looks like the older, more generic halo strap that gets rebranded by various companies. Either one should be a vast improvement over the stock strap. (Still recommend attaching a power bank/counterweight to back)
A pulley system would solve this issue. I use one for my link cable and it's a game changer. Feels fully wireless even over link. This is what I have:

The Oculus touch box is 53cm x 34cm x 13.5cm and is about 5kgs in weight.
The Rift is available on Amazon India it is currently INR39,713 and it states about 3-6 working days for delivery which is stated as costing INR3,699
Definitely get one mate. I absolutely love mine. The touch controls are really good and add a massive extra dimension to play. Games are pretty good for such a new platform and you will get a bunch free with the Rift itself, including the brilliant Robo Recall.
Apart from the freebies there is Lone Echo, Arizona Sunshine, Dead Effect 2, Killing Floor 2, Elite Dangerous, Doom VFR, From Other Suns, and loads more great titles out at the moment.
Also loads of existing PC games can be modded to work with VR. I have played Alien Isolation with Oculus and it is terrifyingly good.
I mean, they're right - it was your choice to use the name and it is your right to change it. You definitely won't get a free name change if you are aggressive with them, but you can potentially ask for escalation - admit that you know it's your fault and there are in game options, but that will take some time and you're hoping they can cut you some slack. Try calling them (assuming you're a subscriber).
But ultimately, yeah, you're most likely going to need to purchase a rename. They do go on sale, and make sure you have a security key attached to your account so you get more coins.
If you're going to stay subscribed anyway, you can buy the 90 Day Bundle from Amazon which is the same cost as subbing through the game, but comes with 2400 extra coins which you can use to buy the rename.
https://www.amazon.com.au/HTC-Vive-Deluxe-Audio-Strap/dp/B06Y2GDXMC now go from there young one, experience what it is like to be poor.
The Microsoft XBOX Wireless Adapter for Windows now works with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.
Model# 1713 UPC# 885370900040
$24.99 USD on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZB7W4QU/ref=cm_sw_r_em_awd_VzMMwb1EDHM4K
To properly install, make sure the controller has been plugged in and the drivers fully installed before plugging in this adapter. Both device drivers are automatically downloaded.
Both the Steam Link ($19.99) and the Steam Controller ($34.99) are the same price on Amazon now which might be a better deal when factoring in shipping costs.

Steam Controller
I think you're mixing it up:
Amazon has a bundle with 90 days and 2400CC: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8?th=1
Origin has a bundle with 60 days and 1050CC: https://www.origin.com/dnk/en-us/store/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/deluxe-pack
Also buy this if you can. It gives you 3 months and quite a bit more cc than origin. You can buy every 3 months and apply the new code each time. Actually you can buy it twice and apply the codes back to back for 6 months of time added.
Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Eternal Throne – Amazon Premium Pack [Online Game Code] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vJSFBbD61BSF8
I dont think they sells Xbox one controller anymore.
They mostly have Xbox Serie SX controller now for the same price.
They are mostly the same, except of the DPAD (concave circle shape), a Share button (that doesnt do much), and it use a USB C to sync.
I had trouble to sync my serieS controller on my pc. I only had a shit usb bluetooth antena and i couldnt sync it with, and i didnt wanted to play wired.
you might might need the "Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows."
Rule #1. But both will be pretty terrible sound quality wise.
If you're looking a headset below 100, look no further than the HyperX Cloud headset
http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-H3CL/dp/B00JJNQG98
I encourage doing a bit more research into a headphone purchase. Highly recommend watching this recent video by Z Reviews that mentions the HyperX.
The HyperX Cloud is a re-labeled headphone with an attatched microphone that was made more expensive (although they look to be on sale right now on Amazon).
