Order your inflatable, 2-person kayak from Amazon now. Then live out a math problem by floating your fellow raiders to the roof one at a time.
Hey Hermitage, Old Hickory here.
They are inflatable. $70 with paddle. My friends liked them (I have the red kayak). I haven't ridden in them personally, but so far I've only heard good reviews.
I've seen them for sale at Academy in Madison, or on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Challenger-1-Person-Inflatable-Aluminum-Output/dp/B00177J4JS/ref=sr_1_4?s=outdoor-recreation&ie=UTF8&qid=1499631726&sr=1-4&keywords=inflatable+kayak
I have the Intex Explorer K2, a 2-person inflatable kayak and it’s perfect for occasional use.
Pros
Cons
Overall, at that price point and for its convenience and portability, I’ve been super happy with the purchase. Hope that helps!
My gf and I got this kayak a few months ago and it’s the best investment we made this summer. Sits up to two people, inflatable and comes with everything you need. Lightweight too. We take it out on Lake Union and never had a problem with it tipping over or feeling unsafe in it.

I am the brother. I bought one from amazon. Intex Challenger K1 Kayak, 1-Person Inflatable Kayak Set with Aluminum Oars and High Output Air Pump https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00177J4JS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_arbjDb5A3BAH0
The price is always around $90.00. Don’t be fooled by the scam sale. I love this thing so much. It is inflatable and fits into the bag in comes in. The bag is a big duffel bag. I kayak to work and I am able to keep it in my locker. I absolutely love the freedoms this gives me. Without a car or a garage it is not feasible to keep a solid one. I keep it stored under my stairs in my condo. I have been out with it three times this week. Actually I really think it’s been three days in a row. Like another poster said, don’t think you’ll win races, it’s pretty slow and I paddle up stream to work. It’s tough but I love a challenge. It gets me out and I’m able to switch things up and not go biking every day. I have spelt hours reclined in this thing reading and I love bragging to my colleagues that, ”I kayaked into work today.” I have wanted a kayak for a long time but couldn’t handle the space so I never got one until I thought about getting one that could blow up. I searched on amazon and found this one. The reviews are really good. I was going to wait until this season to buy it but a freak sale came on late last summer. I don’t know why but it was listed for $26.00!!! How could I have resisted. Sometimes I see it at around $80.00ish but you never know when things are going to go on sale. Make sure to check out the other options on amazon. Just type in blow up kayak.
You could get a 2 person inflatable kayak, like this one I found on Amazon that has a 180kg(400lb) weight capacity. It’s only $240 US as well.
If the seats aren’t separate, you could just not inflate them an instead place in your own seat so you’re sitting closer to the center.
Hey! Im 6’ , 250 and also recently got into kayaking.
‘I got This one for 179 and love it! I just use one seat and put it towards the back so I have room for my legs to stretch out. Takes maybe 10 minutes max to pump up with the pump that came with mine. havent had any issues so far. I think the official weight limit is 400 so I could bring someone with me (depending on size obviously) but usually throw stuff in the back behind my seat like dry bag with shoes keys wallet phone etc. or could fit a small cooler or something.
Let me know if you have questions!
I few years ago, I over-served myself one night and bought a Kayak on Amazon (an Old Town Loon 111). I had no idea until a 12 foot long box showed up to my house one day. No regrets at all... lotta great times having a few beers on the Potomac with that fine craft. Definitely recommend.
The Intex Challenger K2? 350 pound weight limit, inflatable, slow, forgiving, extremely green. $115 on Amazon.
Frig been looking for a great inflatable kayak? Anyone have a good suggestion (links please) under 200$. Ive been on amazon for a while and have a few I like, but it’s hard to tell if it will be shit or not.
Leaning on this one: Intex Challenger K1 Kayak, 1-Person Inflatable Kayak Set with Aluminum Oars and High Output Air Pump https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00177J4JS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_whOTAbDGJMM64
I ordered this kayak that's only $70 on Amazon last week. It's really nice and I'm happy with it. Looking forward to more kayaking this summer.
I got one from amazon last year for like $80 Is not the greatest boat but it caught a ton of fish and was decently comfortable tracked well enough Sorry not more help with yaks in your price range cheap inflatable kayak
How did you manage to get it so cheap? On Amazon its more expensive with the shipping to Malta https://www.amazon.de/Intex-Explorer-Personen-Aufblasbares-Aluminium/dp/B00A7EXF4C/ref=sr_1_1?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1532511095&sr=1-1&keywords=explorer+k2
I got the Explorer K2. You can barely find anywhere to get them, and they are so overpriced. Even looking for a life jacket here they were charging €60 per life jacket. Was like fuck that and ordered from ebay.

I was considering the 2 person version of this, seems like the best. Hope that helps. About 24lbs and lists packed dimensions. I ended up getting a 3 person boat instead.
I've used both. Hard shell is smoother and easier to navigate. An inflatable kayak is really for convenience and freedom to launch where you want. It wasn't on my radar until my friend got one and vetted it prior bc I thought I'd sink at first paddle without their assurance.
This is the model I got. If you have you gone kayaking in this area, you're likely to have seen at least one or two of Intex branded kayak on the lake. FWIW I actually purchased it for $90 and I've already got my money's worth given the rate of rentals. I guess Amazon is doing surge pricing bc has almost tripled with demand or I got a really good deal?
Hey! I think i’ve decided to just get an inflatable one for now. That way I don’t have to concern myself with hauling one, buying stuff to hook it onto my van, etc. I’m also going to be super busy starting this August with school etc, so i’d rather not buy a canoe to just take up space in the garage when I might not be able to take it out as much as i’d like to. I found this one on Amazon, (it’s actually a Kayak) and it seems to have really good reviews and is fairly cheap! I’m hoping it’ll last me two years or so and then I can get an actual canoe. There was one on marketplace for $200, 12 footer and looked in good shape (just needed a new paint job) but I hesitated to quickly and now it’s gone.
Thank you for asking!
Get an inflatable or take fart lord's advice. You can take it on the bus when your bike gets stolen.
These have finally come back down in price since pandemic inflation.

I have 2 of them, they are fuckin' awesome. Pack up into the back of our tiny car, <10m to blow up both of them and be in the water.
Really economical way to start.
I have! This is the brand here. It's an Intex K2 Explorer 2 Seater. The Amazon link shows it comes with electric inflation pump, but mine didn't. Honestly, I think it inflates quick enoguh with the manual one.
Nope, this is a $100 kayak you can find on Amazon. I know because I have the same one and I don’t bring it anywhere except calm lakes that have little to no waves. I’ve taken it to Lake Ontario before and that was perhaps the scariest thing I’ve ever done. It has almost no stability and takes 10x the effort of a hardshell kayak to move forward.
I'm looking at one of these and may just give it a try. I don't have an easy way to get a kayak to and from the river so inflatable is preferred, but could be a big mistake lol.
If you are just looking to paddle around a lake, I would like to recommend getting a $90 inflatable intex kayak and spending the rest of the spring, summer and fall at Beaver Creek.
This will fit 2 adults and a 6yo, if you don’t install the little seats. I think it would still work with the seats installed if you really cram the kid up front.

It's very sturdy, but water is going to get in regardless of how well constructed it is.
It's this model - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A7EXF4C/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Used once and works great. I just live uptown and haven't found time to take it over to Bayou St. John as much as I'd like.
Would anyone from this sub like an inflatable kayak? Me and partner bought it a few years ago for a specific trip and have only used it that one time. Now it's just taking up space. We live in Astoria and you would have to pick it up. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00177FIJ8/ref=twister\_B08976YQX7?\_encoding=UTF8&th=1
Just a 1 person inflatable kayak. Kind of like this https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Challenger-1-Person-Inflatable-Aluminum/dp/B00177J4JS/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=inflatable+kayak&qid=1629143043&sr=8-4
I've had an Intex Challenger 2 inflatable kayak for a few years now, it's been fun -- I've used it on calm days in the sea around Vancouver, and lakes around Ottawa. It's not for serious kayaking, but good for getting out on gentle water for some fun.
Just make sure you wear life jackets as well!
