Power cords carry higher voltage than A/V cords (like HDMI cables). I'm not an electrical engineer or general contractor, but they emit enough heat that it is considered a fire hazard to run them inside residential walls due to lack of air flow. Additionally, it is not up to building code to run such cords within walls.
Instead, you need to either have an electrician properly install wall outlets as needed, or use a type of kit that allows for the TV's power cord to plug into an 'outlet' on the wall, then the kit's to-code cabling runs down and allows you to connect to an existing wall outlet.

OP, please look into a mantelmount! I have one mounted over my fireplace and it's GREAT! I have it positioned up when I want it to look nice for company, and when it's just me and my bf, we've got it pulled down for tv and video games. It's really the best option for any tv mount!

Running power cords or extension cords in a wall in the US is against the national electrical code and might break your home owners/renters insurance if you had a problem like a short circuit or a fire directly or indirectly caused.

It’s one of those outlet relocation and cable pass through things you can buy at a hardware store to run cables in the wall for a mounted TV. People who are afraid of adding an outlet will use this to safely/legally (within code) run power from the TV. You would connect an extension cord to the prongs on the wall and plug it into an outlet. AV cables pass through on the right.

Honestly, I don’t understand why folks just don’t add an outlet up high above an existing one. It’s cheaper, cleaner, and just as easy to install as one of these things.
No problem. You can find some decent mounts for like 20 bucks on amazon. I use this for my g9, just make sure you get the right size, sometimes amazon links get send you to the right page but wrong selection

One cable-related comment here: I don't think running your computer's power cord through your wall in that way is up to code in most states. I looked into this when I was wall mounting my TV and ended up buying one of these things to make it work. Most people don't care about this, but you seem like the kind of person who might.

*Note: Anyone who may read this, please dont just cut a hole in the wall behind your tv and lower again behind your console. They make kits like this for a reason and you shouldn't be just running live power cords behind the wall, ESPECIALLY an extension cord.

If you're going for best price, TV mounts are a lot cheaper to hold up a lot of weight. This clamps to my desk and holds the G9 up for $50, you have to get the tilt right (via bolts) but once you do its pretty good.
This all assumes you won't move the monitor much tho, set and forget

This is the Wall mount I used. This was my first time wall mounting anything and the process was very easy. It took about less than 30 min to mount this. No modifications needed since samsung includes a 100x100 mount piece to attach. The only thing I can suggest is to get stud finder and order a 5/32 wood drill bit if you dont have one. This wall mount supports up to 77lbs, so my g9 hasn't sagged at all and does not wobble. You can also make changes to the tilt from up-down and side to side.

and I absolutely would not recommend it for this monitor. Mostly because the VESA bracket is universal, so it's really big and just happens to have holes for 100x100 (what the monitor is). A 100x100 mount would fit PERFECTLY with it, it would just go into the back of the monitor and you wouldn't have any issues. But since that mount has a "universal" one, it's bigger, so you have to use spacers and get creative with screw lengths yada yada, tbh it was a huge headache and I probably would have used something like this if I had to do it again: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Wall-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B010QZCT5W
I just didn't like that you could see the mount below the monitor with that one, but you get the point of the 100x100 plate.
You can order kit from Amazon and install yourself, it doesn't connect to your electrical directly, just have to make sure you have straight conduit between vertical studs, eg there is nothing going horizontal that might block the wires going up and down.

It's the best and cheapest solution I could find around, very clean and functional.
Be warned, extension cords are not rated to be hidden in walls. There are some kits like this one that are though.
None of the working arms or pivots in stock. So, as you can see the fireplace mantle is rather tall, so the TV is going to be placed uncomfortably high.
In addition, there is board and Batton trim, that we would prefer not to damage.
Is anyone aware of a TV mount that we could install without damaging the trim?
Also, does anyone have experience with mounts like this? It seems like a novel idea, but I could imagine it not looking great in person.

If you do this, please do NOT run the power cord for the TV through the wall. They have cable management kits from Amazon/Home Depot for ~$50 that will do what you are wanting and they'll be code-compliant and not pose a fire hazard.
The last thing you'd want is that PS5 to burn in a house fire.
I do recognize that this is quite rare, but it does happen.
The monitor comes with a plate that accepts a standard VESA 100x100 mount. I'm using this mount from Amazon and it works great.
Hey buddy. Nice setup. I recently discovered these fireplace mantle mounts for tvs. They allow you to keep them up high like that but pull out about a foot and drop down a few feet to put the tv at eye level when watching. Really cool stuff, check it out. My wife and I both use them on our TV's now. We got ours from Amazon.
