U/oblivion Do you have the link for the single DP version? Is it https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Charging-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B07XSGG2M3. (This one only references 4k 30 hz)
Is yours running Gen 2 10Gbps on the connection to the G14? They reference Thunderbolt, but I didn't find USB Gen 2.
Does the DP port support higher refresh rates when driving a 1440 display? My own goal is a single DP that can handle up to 144 Hz refresh (I ordered one of the nice recent Dell monitors). Unfortunately, even though the pixels x refresh math looks reasonable (fewer pixels/second than 4k 60 hz), at least some suppliers' implementations can't drive the higher refresh.
Thanks!
Hmm what smartphone are you charging? I thought charging a smartphone would be considered quite high drain haha since nowadays phones need at least 12W. Would regular USB3.0 5V@900mA suffice? Here are two options:
1) Cable Matters USB-C Hub on Amazon for $57. Has 2 x USB-A, 2 x USB-C(one with up to 80W PD charging), 1 x microSD(UHS-I), 1 x SD(UHS-II), 1 x Gigabit Ethernet, 1 x HDMI(4K@30fps). The USB-A ports probably will give you the same charging not supported since they're regular 5V@900mA ports
2) Kensington USB-C Hub on Amazon for $99. Really expensive, but has the nice feature of 5V2.4A charging(aka Apple's 12W charging for iPads) on both the USB-A ports so you should be able to charge most smartphone at normal speed(definitely not fast charge, but if it's USB-C or an iPhone it'll at least charge). It's even marketed as a mini charging hub. No microSD/SD slots though. You get 1 x USB-C(5Gbps + up to 60W PD charging), 2 x USB-A(5gbps + 5V2.4A each), 1 x HDMI(up to 4K@30fps), 1 x VGA(at least FHD@60Hz), 1 x Gigabit Ethernet.
One display output:
Up to three display outputs:
Depending on what resolution and frequency monitor(s) do you want to connect and what other peripherals are we looking at, I would consider the following three cases:
Spending more than 135 USD on a dock for a ThinkPad T series is folly.
