This is the USB Hub I bought, I don't see anywhere to power it but I'm surprised it would be underpowered since it was made for the Pi Zero. The youtube video I watched for setting up Octoprint said it would work, and that was the one he left in the description.
Thanks again.
I was able to boot the pi off the PWR and USB ports. I have tried wiggling the connection on both sides of the USB adapter and each time it resulted in nothing. I tried reducing the power load by disconnecting the mouse which did nothing. The only thing that worked reliably was unplugging and replugging the port in, it had a 100% success rate in making the pi reboot.
If I remember correctly I believe I am using the https://www.amazon.com/LoveRPi-MicroUSB-Port-Black-Raspberry/dp/B01HYJLZH6/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Micro+Usb+Hub&qid=1644278310&sr=8-3 adapter except in white.
I did try a different power cable to see if the pi wasn't getting enough voltage and different power adapters. I'm just totally confused on why the setup would work on the 0W2 but not on the 0W. (I've tried usb directly into a tv, usb to usbC adapter into a laptop, using a 5W iPhone charger, using a 29W iPad charger)
you just need a micro usb power supply, most places that sell the pi will give you an option to bundle one. a micro sd card, 16 gb should be good enough a microusb cord to go from the pi to the printer then if you want to add a camera, you need to either get the pi camera or a microusb to usb hub to use a usb webcam. there is only one microusb port on the pi. something like this https://www.amazon.com/LoveRPi-MicroUSB-Port-Black-Raspberry/dp/B01HYJLZH6/
then you just need a case and there are plenty online to print for free
I suppose that could work, although it'd have to be a male micro-USB input like this one, but then I'd still need to buy two Standard-Standard cables. Not as elegant a solution as I was hoping for but I'll keep this in mind
You'll have to buy something like this.
I'm not sure if this would work but if you have a micro usb to usb cable, you can just try connecting it directly to your PC and see if it shows up as a drive.
This guy works a treat for me. Powers itself via the micro USB built into the pie. I have a wifi adapter, keyboard and 2 USB NES controllers in it with no external power needed!

The hub was a LoveRPi - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HYJLZH6/
It’s not a powered hub.
