I haven't yet bought a flashlight that runs on 18650's because I can't find a charger that I trust. I was looking at a Nitecore charger on Amazon and in the reviews someone shows that it caught fire! Most of them look pretty shady to me, honestly.
What's considered the safest of these chargers? I'm not willing to risk a fire in my home where my wife and two children are for a cool flashlight. I understand the appeal of the 18650's, but I might just stick with AA and AAA's.
Yes! Those exactly. For the price I like the i4. I use to to charge everything that takes a cylender type battery. It works well on the AA NiMH i use for remotes and my MFLB as well as 18350, 18650s and even 26650s I use for vaping, ecigs, flashlights, etc.
They also make another charger that PERFORMS exactly the same, but shows more information about your batteries and charge state and doesn't have such blinding LEDs called the D2/D4.
u/Quitthatgrit nailed it. Any mod that has a removable battery should have the battery charged outside the mod. Charging it in the mod can be dangerous from what I've heard. The battery chargers are cheap enough to get a good one for not so much. This charger is the one I use and I have had zero issues. I've charged everything from AAs to a 26650 for my flashlight.
would it be this one? im not good at reading and understanding the voltages/amps etc, so im scared of batteries exploding haha. i rather get a charger to charges abit slower so it doesnt damage the battery as much, would this be safe?
So that charger is charging at 2 amps, which is why it’s causing a lot of heat. I could recommend using a 1 amp or slower charger to reduce heat and wear on the batteries, you could charge through usb on a computer, it should be slower and reduce heat as well.
This is the one I use, it charges at 1 amp, I would recommend it, these batteries can become dangerous if not taken care of.
Nitecore i2 Intellicharge Charger for 18650 AAA AA Li-Ion/NiMH Battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_BM8NSYBP6BDBYPRY0MYH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Speaking of batteries, it's highly recommended to use an external charger like a nitecore, but if you are going to use the mod's usb, make sure to remove it from charging once it is fully charged. The mods aren't regulating the voltage and can overcharge the battery. That's when you hear of the horror stories of exploding vapes
Highjacking top comment... I've already been just using the USB charger with my 2-battery mod, would it make sense to get a Nitecore D2 at this point or just do that when I replace these two batteries? Is the 'damage' already done, so to speak?
Also anyone know how this compares to the Nitecore D2? https://www.amazon.ca/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1495096723&sr=8-7&keywords=Nitecore+D2
The D2 is quite a bit pricier in Canada, it looks like.
If your in a pinch and need to charge on the go (say in your car or whatever) it works, but for best (and quicker) results. Charge enternally. Here is a link for an external charger.
Happy Vaping :)
I have an air coming in the mail. I would recommend either contacting arizer or just getting and external charger. http://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ this charger is a duel sled and works well also it's cheap.
a simple plug-in charger for the air.. buy a 18650 battery charger like http://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ u can charge your spare battery while using one in the air, if the one is empty the other is fully loaded ;-) vape non stop with no battery issues
I heard some really good things about the TFV4. My batteries last me a good couple of hours maybe a day depends on your usage & I recently bought my battery charger from Amazon & it came in the mail today but I'm at work. I will let you know. This is the one I bought, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096U26QQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I guess I'll pick up a pair of those KeepPowers as well... Was spending so much time looking at lights, i overlooked the battery a bit. I have one of these Nitecore Chargers which I hope falls under "good charger".
https://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ
It doesn't seem to be sold in physical stores but you can get it from amazon pretty quick.
Get this, it’s $16 on Amazon. It charges the batteries externally so the batteries are properly charged as opposed to using the USB port. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XMQWVXQWTFBSX2BV7NKZ
I hate to point this out, but the Nitecore i2 is currently £10 on amazon brand new. May want to temper your expectations on price a little bit.
Thanks! I think I’ll pick up a external unit. Would this be the unit your referring to?
https://www.amazon.ca/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ
This is definitely a good "only vape". The only thing you have to compromise on even a little is the stealth/form factor, and it's by no means a problem you can't manage- just not as good as other vapes that prioritize it. Vapor quality is among the very best, removable batteries solves that concern entirely, easy to load, easy to use.
I wouldn't bother ever using the in-device charging, just take the battery out and swap it with your extra from the charger. You want to get a Nitecore charger, they're the best by far and not that expensive. I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=KF9U7NG72SOT&dchild=1&keywords=nitecore+charger+18650&qid=1635382599&sprefix=nitecore+charger%2Caps%2C72&sr=8-3
Also, when you get your extra batteries, don't get those on Amazon. Lots of fakes. There are a few specific types of 18650 batteries people recommend and a few places to get them. I went with these batteries and this seller.
https://www.imrbatteries.com/sony-murata-vtc6-18650-3000mah-15a-battery/
Last thing, I don't generally stay on top of vape cleaning, ect. I noticed a huge reduction in performance after 2 weeks or so of no cleaning- the vape really depends on having good airflow, so keep that in mind.
The Nitecore has alot of good reviews on it:
I'm using the single bay version of this charger:
I love my Air 2. Be sure to get some extra batteries, and a external charger though. The Nitecore's work great. I have 2 extra batteries, so I always have a full one charged.
Let me know if you want pictures from other angles.
Carta recycler is this one: https://www.dhgate.com/product/new-style-carta-recycler-with-with-thick/477395162.html#redirect_detail=WAP2PC
All batteries were charged externally. Willing to sell external charger as well (it's this one - https://www.amazon.ca/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ)
The black batteries are 1200 mAh vs the standard 500 mAh stock batteries so they tend to last longer.
The terp pearls actually spin in the Carta bowl!
2 of the Carta atomizers are missing plates but I'm also providing rebuild plates (and tools).
Everything included in photo functions well.
Products are all in Montreal, Quebec.

this one looks very similar to the one i had, and amazon is always reliable so here’s a link! https://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ
Just a heads up I am new to this form, so no way a expert but I use this nitecore charger that was recommend on another form. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096U26QQ/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have also saw others on here use this one with the LCD screen, if your into the numbers aspect. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KW2ZDJO/ref=psdc_10063711011_t1_B0096U26QQ

Now for banggood , I did use paypal and used my credit card on there so I have 2 companies backing me for fraud protection but just like ebay I think they are mostly safe with some venders being bad apples. Just be willing to wait a month for your light with no tracking because they never update it. The company selling this light though sells a lot every day so I would not worry with this vender. Hope that helps if you have anymore questions I would be glad to help :)
Maybe try a different browser or a different profile on your computer. but here are the links...

It is smart to have a spare set of batteries just in case. Simply swap out the sets, so you always have a fully charged mod with zero fuss.
Use two different types of batteries that are different colors to ensure they stay properly married (Always keep your batteries as a pair don't mix), you could also order 4+ of the same type and just label them with permanent marker.
My batteries were purchased on Amazon.ca from this product page and I'm fairly certain I have the older model of the Nitecore i2 according to this page where I originally bought purchased it from.
From what I can tell there isn't a big difference between the new and older model of the i2 besides a few bells and whistles. The charging functionality should be identical, no?
Thanks for the help by the way!
Nah man I literally mean it needs an wall outlet to plug into. There is no other way around this.

Found this in Canada:
Battery: https://www.flashlightworld.ca/panasonic-ncr18650b-battery-3-7v-18650/
Charger: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0096U26QQ/
I just hope that battery isn't a fake.
This charger would probably be fine, maybe get the 4-bay version if you get more batteries. They charge back up to full pretty quickly though so it's not a big deal.
That's right. I'd get an 18650 mod like the eVic 60w with LG HG2 batteries, get a charger as well
I don't even use their charger. Seriously. I use Nitecore chargers.

I use a Nitecore I2
And here's where I got mine (best prices I was able to find). It's nice to be able to get it all from once place so you don't get half of your kit and have to wait for the rest to come from some other shop:
$28 http://www.elev8vape.com/authentic-kanger-subtank-mini/
$37 http://www.elev8vape.com/sigelei-mini-30w-box-mod/
$6 http://www.elev8vape.com/samsung-inr18650-25r-2500mah-high-discharge-flat-top/ (I'd get two)
Amazon has better selection of chargers, but that's the one thing you don't need right away: http://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-i2-Intellicharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1431452918&sr=1-1&keywords=18650+charger

Got a couple mods, a fogger v4 rta, either mod will come with the batteries shown and I'll throw in some wire and cotton for free. No charger but you can get one on Amazon for $13 here free shipping
Nitecore i2 Intellicharge Charger for 18650 AAA AA Li-Ion/NiMH Battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_I7tqvb1J1QQ3A https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0096U26QQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_I7tqvb1J1QQ3A
And if you don't have prime you can send me $13 and I'll order it for you and have it shipped to your address.
Edit: since you said you were looking for cheap, I'll do the fogger, lpg, 4 18350s, battery case, wire, cotton, and order you the charger for $60 shipped, PayPal fees on you.
If you have the money, go for: mod batteries charger atomizer or find it here If not, go for mod this has an in-built battery and is charged via micro usb, which I'm sure you already have a charging cable for that you use with your phone. Same atomiser recommended. I live in the UK, so finding this stuff on US sites was tricky. Let me know if you're looking for something else though :) Also, this is a great atomiser and this is a great intermediate mod between the other two with 65W of power, but note its requires batteries as the sigelei does
The ego + igo... you could but it won't perform the best.
You could get a mech mod and everything that you need for it under $100 online.

Before you read on, please please please do your research before buying and building.
Choose one that you like.
I would suggest Stingray X and Paragon.
Two or more of this.
And this or the i4 depending on how many batteries you get.
This or equivalent where you find it in stock.
And then you can get japanese cotton or regular unbleached cotton and kanthal on amazon..
I use the following items and highly reccomend them both. Sony VTC 4 https://www.fasttech.com/products/1420/10004185/1628900-authentic-sony-us18650vtc4-3-6v-2100mah
Nitecore i2 Intellicharge Charger http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096U26QQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you want something you will hold onto for more than a couple months I would go with the following:
Choose one that works with 18650s
These Sony 18650s aren't the real deal, but it's so hard to come by legit ones without seeing them in person.
Also you may want to pick up some organic cotton balls at a local shop (Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc.).
Depending on the mod you choose, this should be under $100. GG
Edit: If you are entirely new to coil building and how batteries work, I would suggest educating yourself first. There are plenty of resources on the subject.
