Thank you! I'm actually proud of that area. It's a charging station where I charge all my stuff at the end of work.
That stand is this one, really like it

Use touch instead of a trackpad or mouse. It's what iPadOS is designed for. To that end, get the Smart Keyboard Folio instead of the Magic Keyboard. Take some of the savings and get a Bluetooth keyboard and an iPad stand. Portrait mode for long documents is great.
I got this one from Viozon on Amazon just a couple weeks ago and I really like it. It has a nice height to it that I didn’t see in other stands I was looking at. It was around $30 when I bought it though, seems pricing/availability is weird right now so maybe not a good option if you need to order one today.
What kind of stand? At eye level? Lower on the table? 360 rotation?
I use this one and really like it. I've used more minimal stands in the past, but I find that with the Pro, they tend to tip over when using the iPad in portrait orientation. With this stand, the base is long enough to avoid that.

I echo the other comments that suggested you read the year of ipad Pro. It’s well worth the read, and will give you a lot of ideas about workflow and apps. Also as you mentioned wordpress I would take a look at Ulysses intergration with wordpress.
From my POV, I have been trying to move my “away from the desk” work to iPad as much as possible and overall have found it possible but not always easy. Overall I find I can get most everything done, but just slower.
Hardware is great, you can get a nice stand and utilize the camera connection adapter to hook up any full sized USB keyboard or just use a Bluetooth one. The Apple keyboard cover is great on the road (I actually prefer the keyboard cover keyboard to the current MacBook Pro keyboard), and Logitech makes good options as well. The battery works great, and you can’t beat the system for ease of carry etc. Only thing that I hate with a full sized keyboard and the stand is constantly reaching up and using the screen. I wish I could keyboard control more of the apps/OS and move the selected input field around more.
Apps are good too, I again echo the recommendation for Tweetbot for twitter. And there are so damn many apps to write in you can get lost trying to find the one that is right for you. There is a lot of automation that can be done, etc etc.
Problems I have hit are where I want say multiple documents open at the same time within the same app. It sucks not having that feature. Also, I find the workflow for apps that are not fully updated for the latest iOS features can be really rough. For instance, someone e-mails me a word doc asking for me to edit it and return. I open in word, then have to tell Word to save in word. I edit. Then I have to reply to the e-mail, but I can’t access documents that are saved in the word app, so I have to copy the document into some other location where Mail can see it. Then I want to copy it to my cloud drive service which has not been updated yet, so I do that. Sadly, Mail can’t see in my cloud drive app either. Now, I have three copies fo the same document on my iPad, and I have to clean that up so I don’t get confused on which is the “real” document. Now, if all these apps were updated for latest iOS this would all be no problem, but you know how that can be. In time, this will get better. But it does exist now, and has to be taken into account.
I agree with the idea of giving it a test run. I would almost go further and say get a good iPad Pro with a keyboard cover and use it as much as possible for a period of time, falling back to the PC when you have too. It might not be great right away, but over time it will get better for sure.
Other item that crosses my mind is make an inventory of what all apps and features you use on a regular basis on your desktop, and ensure they map over. Little things will bite you. For instance, there is no PGP in apple mail. So you have to use Canary mail. Perhaps there is a browser plugin you use a lot, can you get that on the iPad, if not, can you live without it? Etc etc. Little items that you often don’t think of until they bite you are often more annoying than the big ones.
But yeah, I 100% agree, anyone that is worried about security should keep their most sensitive items on the iPad, not use cloud backup, and don’t put the items in a cloud storage. Encrypted backup only though iTunes. By far the most secure platform for the average user.
I use this stand for my iPad to raise it up. Works really well, and rotates easily for landscape/portrait orientation. It also comes with different sized clips for different device sizes. It also works well when you want to use your phone/tablet as a camera and need a stand.

Viozon iPad Pro stand, its $40 on amazon. Nice and heavy, good quality, worth it if you use it with an external keyboard.
