I did a quite extensive search a while back, and found bludit.com a good option. (my page)

You really want as simple as possible whenever self-managing is concerned. Flat file and markdown are quite important in this regard.

I can recommend DokuWiki as well, equally simple and robust, although I use it locally as a personal knowledge wiki.
