I have now gone over multiple lists of cinematic and editing techniques and couldn't really find a fitting term. Perhaps "boomerang effect", as it's similar to the Instagram looping boomerang feature?

Instagram just updated the app a week ago adding support Live Photo (iOS version of Living Images). Prior to this update, if you wanted to upload Live Photo, you'd have to do it via Instagram Boomerang which AFAIK is only available on iOS and Android.
