I use Dropshare (https://dropshare.app) and point the storage to an S3 bucket. It is a screenshot type of app, with support for more general uploads as well. When I clip a section of the screen it uploads to S3 in the background and puts the URL in my clipboard, same for when I drag a normal file to the drop icon in menu bar.

I have the exact same use case here. tl;dr: Dropshare for macOS. It's paid, but really good.

My setup:

server with SFTP/S3 access to a certain folder. I use S3 (Minio) because it's accessible via port 443, and I have an annoyingly strict proxy at work; in most cases, SFTP probably would be simpler.
webserver (nginx) serving and optionally indexing that folder.
(optionally) url shortener (I use Polr, it has an API and both apps support it)
desktop app — ShareX (Windows) and Dropshare (macOS). Both grab anything you throw at them, upload on server and give you link to the file.

One thing I miss is an Android app.

This is exactly what I need as alternative (one time $25 vs $100.. guess who wins).

Dropshare do all waht I need screenshot, screenshot with annotations, screen record and notes.

Ant it post screenshot to sftp (S3/Dropbox/etc too) and copied link to clipboard.

I just started using the amazing Dropshare app and love how I can more easily add options to my links! For example:

Add a tracking link for when it’s opened
Add a password
Add an expiration date & time for the link to expire
Easily use the Share sheet in Mac to copy the url
Easily change the endpoint url
