im wondering if you could use something pomodero? http://gnomepomodoro.org
thats designed to give you an alert every x minutes to take a break from your computer, but you could set that up somehow. disable on screen notifications and just have audio notifications.
set it to go off every 14 minutes and have a 1 minute break
