What is the crowd's opinion of Macro Deck?

This might come into play if you want something similar (minus tactile buttons) and have an Android phone.

I use it for work a whole lot, as it's nice to have various editing keys within reach. It's responsive and the software's pretty logical so I can't recommend it enough! I also know a bunch of friends who stream swear by it without...y'know. Stream Deck prices as it's free.

I use an app called Macro Deck and give it some controls which I wouldn't have otherwise, you need to make sure its being run as an administrator or it can't control the game though. Its very similar to an elgato streamdeck, except its an app for a (preferrably) unused/old phone or tablet https://www.macrodeck.org/

If you have an android device or a spare android device you aren't using, there is Macrodeck that works like a rudimentary streamdeck. It doesn't do everything a streamdeck can, but it's a good free alternative that you can use. Conversely you could pay for Streamdeck Mobile, which I think is like 30ish bucks a year.
