What is the crowd's opinion of Mailtrain?

How about a good old email newsletter? There's https://mailtrain.org as a self-hosted option, for example. But I don't use it myself and don't know how difficult it is to set up.

I check the subreddit quite often, but presumably not everyone does?

Can't say how well it works, but I was interested in Mailtrain before folks here suggested that relying on our own mail server any more than I already have to was unwise. (I'm not at all qualified and working solo. You may be in a better position!)

Maybe something like mailtrain? All the usual disclaimers about sending email from your own server apply.

Edit: Googled "self hosted mailgun", first result was this thread, which suggested cuttlefish
