It's a creative software for painting and animating easily with a grid. The 3rd Generation In Tools For Grid-Based Vector Art, Pixel Art, Design & Animation.
I don't need it for work but I'd like to try it just for personal use at home.
I think a lot of people are probably using illustrator but the only dedicated software I've seen for it would be marmoset hexels https://www.marmoset.co/hexels/ It looks pretty neat and supposedly it can even do real time game graphics (sorcery really, probably as a flipbook animation)
