Thanks! No the visualisation thing is generated from the midi recording and composited in post. Similar to other visualisation video but I can't setup my camera directly above the piano, so I perspective transformed it in place. Sure, could be hand-crafted in a video editor, but when open-source projects like MIDIVisualizer exists it's not too far fetched to think he has programmed his own software doing it for him.
