In lieu of seeders on the older torrents, you might want to try a download accelerator like the open-source app Motrix, which will let you download the ZIPs from archive.org with 64 parallel connections (providing torrent-like speeds).
I add some odd results with wget from Archive.org. archives would download but then once completed directories would be empty. However this method below I tried last night has actually worked.
Try this method:
- Grab all links with "Link Gopher" Chrome/Firefox Extension.
- Filter the links by file extension.
- Download the Open Source File Manager Motrix.
- Motrix will automatically transfer links once you click "Add tasks".
- Change the Split Value to 1.
You can use Motrix to accelerate those downloads by running multiple parallel connections. It's slow because of your ISP and the servers you are trying to download from. I have the same exact issue with my service provider more so than slow servers like AWS, Twitch, etc.
