remember that panicky feeling you got when you thought all your data was lost forever?
Use the memory of that feeling and sign up for an offsite backup service like Mozy or Crashplan. These services silently back everything folder you tell them to back up to the cloud. They are cheap.
You got lucky this time and have a second chance. So don't forget that panicky feeling. All hard drives eventually fail; this WILL happen again.
