Not exactly the way you describing, but there's a native recorder iOS app called Music Memos that recognizes the chords you are playing and keep track in the recording.

$10 says it adopts Music Memo’s aesthetic. In fact $10 says iOS 10 as a whole moves towards MM’s look & feel, scaling back from the spartan text & outline of iOS7.
