Yes it is. So is your iPhone, Chrome browser, PC/Mac, Router, etc etc.
There's no way to avoid it unless you go live in a shack in the woods.
You have to pick your battles.
1) download and install a VPN. I use Tunnelbear.
2) disable location services
3) uninstall any apps that require location services
4) use spideroak instead of Google or Dropbox
5) search with duckduckgo instead of Google
6) chat with OTR instead of Skype
7) get the Privacy Pack
8) encrypt everything
