What is the crowd's opinion of Pages?

Each of the six infographics so far has come from getting really confused or frustrated about something, or making a big mistake.

Then I go off and do a bunch of research to find out what’s really going on, mostly on the ACPC Discord. Next, that raw data has to be digested into a bigger picture of how that all affects a regular player, and optimal ways to exploit all these rules.

The hard part is then trying to condense these (sometimes pretty complex) systems into a clear presentation of the right essentials to help others avoid the same frustrations/mistakes, without confusing things even more! 😜

To actually assemble the final product, I use the terrific Pages app that’s available for free online. 😊

For the Mac, Apple offers Pages (word processor), Numbers (spreadsheet), Kenynote (presentations) that you can use to edit MS Office (Word / Powerpoint / Excel) documents and save in MS Office format. https://www.apple.com/pages/

Two questions:

• What sort of computer does she have? Mac/Windows? There’s some software that’s great on one or the other but not both.
• What sort of needs does she have in terms of storing reference information and reworking the order of sections within the document?

If she has a reasonably recent Mac, and just needs a way to efficiently get words onto the page, the free Pages app from Apple is a very solid word processor. Exports to .doc, .epub, and several other common formats.

If she needs to keep track of notes and research, and to move things around a lot once written, Scrivener is an extremely good program that has a huge amount of support and reference online. Also allows for substantial detail in terms of exporting a completed ebook, if she’s self-publishing.
