Interesting idea, I like that. I don't think there's anything in the pipeline for it, at least looking at the Launchpad page it doesn't show anything.
You could submit it there, they're never going to do it if it's not on their radar. Here's the link to the page.
Long version:
Download the tar.xz archive of Pantheon-files then extract it and follow the instructions to install it. However you may need to update some other packages (listed on the INSTALL file) as well to make it work.
Short version (could break your system):
Add the elementary Daily PPA sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-os/daily && sudo apt update and do a full-upgrade sudo apt full-upgrade. The problem with this method is that it's going to update all your system and maybe it also updates to Loki.
