What is the crowd's opinion of Root Explorer?

Sometimes there's a file manager included in the OS; otherwise, download Cabinet or Root Explorer or the like. Then you'll find it in your downloads folder, assumedly.

Things you need:

• Root access.
• A file explorer. I recommend ES File Explorer or Root Explorer.

Backing Up

1. Open your file explorer and grant it root explorer powers. For ES File Explorer, open up the side menu, go to tools, then turn "root explorer" on.
2. Go to your root directory. The root directory is a step above your internal storage where you might keep your music and pictures. It will have folders like acct, cache, config, dev, efs, etc...
3. Find the directories listed below step 5.
4. Inside each directory you will find a file called "swagbucks.sqlite." Copy this file over to your computer or wherever else you want to store it as a backup.
5. Because they are all named "swagbucks.sqlite" you should keep them in separately named folders so you can remember which file belongs to which app.

• data/data/com.indymusictv.views/files/Database/
• data/data/com.lifestylztv.views/files/Database/
• data/data/com.movieclips.views/files/Database/
• data/data/com.sportly.views/files/Database/

Restoring

1. Be logged in to the apps.
2. copy the swagbucks.sqlite file to the appropriate directory. So the swagbucks.sqlite file you backed up from IndyMusic should go into data/data/com.indymusictv.views/files/database.
3. Overwrite the existing swagbucks.sqlite file in there.
4. Log in and enjoy.

If someone decides to upload all the files, all you'd need to do is add a step about downloading that pack of files and placing those in the directories as per the "Restoring" section.

This was one I used for a bit, it worked well, until I got Root Explorer which has one built in. Also, if you have Dropbox, it has one built in as well. You could just drop the text files in your DB, let them sync, them view them on your phone.

Have you tried deleting them from the recovery? That is normally much more reliable than using an app (assuming you are talking about the app ROM Manager and not your recovery).

 

If that doesn't work you can delete the backups with a file manager such as Root Browser or Root Explorer

CWM backups >/data/media/clockworkmod/backup

TWRP backups >/data/media/twrp/

I can't speak for other carriers, but the Sprint S3's shutter sound was set to always be audible, no matter if the phone was on vibrate or mute. I don't take creepy stalker photos, but I do occasionally take photos at times or places where it's disruptive to have that sound going off.

If you plan to do the same thing, here are the steps:

• Install Root Explorer
• Use it to search for system > media > audio > ui
• Tap the "Mount R/W" button at the top
• Find Camera_click.ogg and delete or rename it
• Also, search for shutter.ogg and delete or rename it

Root Explorer is considered an excellent file manager, especially when rooted. They do have a non-rooted version too. I use it in combination with ESFile Explorer.

Root Explorer has been my favorite since switching to ICS. It's highly functional and doesn't look like candy.

Have you tried installing a file system explorer application on the tablet? Maybe Root Explorer? I'm not positive but some quick reading suggests to me that it is compatible with the Galaxy tab.

If you can get this installed and running, it has search functionality that I've used in the past to find some random treasure on my android phone. Maybe you could sail your way around your tablet and unearth your booty.
