Love my tiling window manager. I'm currently using herbstluftwm. i3 tab is another good example, thanks.

MirBSD Korn Shell (mksh). Very lightweight and fast when combined with rxvt-unicode in daemon/client mode. It's easy to compile both to strip out unwanted features.

I use urxvt + tabbed + the following script for exactly the same purpose.

Ha, that's great to know. Just found the AUR package containing that patch. Any chance you got a link to this information? In the CVS of the Urxvt page (http://software.schmorp.de/pkg/rxvt-unicode.html) this is quite impossible to find.

I don't use xterm, so I don't know how to solve that. But why don't you try to use another better one like urxvt. If the problem appears again, maybe i3 has problem. Hope this will help you :) http://software.schmorp.de/pkg/rxvt-unicode.html
