What is the crowd's opinion of Thorium Reader?

There are six search categories, but generally you'll only ever use four of them:

• LibGen (Sci-Tech) [nonfiction]
• Scientific articles
• Fiction
• Comics [not just comics but also occasionally art books -- stuff in .cbr format]

Search in the appropriate category. Results will be listed with author, title, year, file format, etc. Choose the result with your preferred year, file format, etc. and either:

• try one of the links in the Mirrors column ("[1] [2] [3] [4] [5]"), then click the big "Get" link at the top
• click on the title of the result, then click on the title again at the top of the page, then click the big "Get" link at the top

This should start downloading the file. If the download doesn't start or the page isn't available, try a different mirror.

To view the files, you'll need an ebook reader application. On desktop the best I've found is Thorium, though I've also used Adobe Digital Editions. On Android, I use KOReader.

• Open the transcription (SRT) file as a text file using Libreoffice, check that the text is transcribed correctly, then export it as an ePub book. (Alternatively, use another word processor that can save a text file as an HTML file... see below).
• Thorium ePub reader has a built-in text-to-speech function. Download Thorium ePub reader from the Windows store or from the EDRlab website if it isn't available in the Windows store in your country. Open the ePub book using Thorium.
• You can use Audacity sound editor to record the sound and save it as an MP3 file, enable a loopback recording, or use a sound cable with another audio recorder. See: How to Geek
• To start reading an ePub book aloud using Thorium, hit the speaker icon.
• Some web browsers can read text from an exported HTML page aloud either natively or using an extension. In Firefox it's native. You can open an HTML page, click Toggle Reader View beside the address bar, then click the Listen icon.

What features from Edge exactly do you wan't? Thorium Reader is pretty good. Firefox and Chrome also have epub plugins, if you want to read in a browser.
