You could try https://tinycp.com/.
Used it a lot in the beginning. It is still free, but there is a possibility you have to pay (a small amount) in the future.
Clean interface and you can add several useful features like SMB access to your webhosting files.

I used while it was still the old version and it pretty well lived up to its name. the new one is even better. It seems to be supported, and the guy responded when i emailed him questions.
