We use webcalendar and Google Calendar. They act as backends with Mozilla Lightning for the user side. Since our standard email client is Thunderbird it works out for us. Plus we deal with lots of people running exchange servers who coordinate meetings using that email attachment thing, so this combo allows us to inter-operate with them as well.
