Anyways get a resuming download manager. I recommend DownThemAll! for Firefox (it's great for porn) or wxDFast! for standalone.

I've been a big fan of Wackget. Nice and simple, uses wget, resumes downloads, but does not accelerate downloads.

There's also wxDownload. Also resumes broken downloads, and this will split files into pieces, so it should accelerate download speeds.
