The same people complaining about a few seconds delay in getting weather forecasts really under appreciate the actual work that goes in to so many layers of this.
They're the same people who point to shit like Google or Instagram for ease of use and fail to realise our government dedicates not even 1/100th of budget as these companies in to web.

Despite what you might believe, this is a subculture.
BOM is designed for literally the nation. That audience group includes the elderly, low vision users, those with disabilities, and more.
You are a minority.
It might suck to hear, but a slight increase in page speed so a blind person doesn't have to deal with fuck-y screen readers on the old site is actually a legal issue which the government agency needs to comply with.
Guess what - people complain about UI changes constantly. It's a thing.
It sucks for users short term, but look at literally any product out on the market and long term users get used to it.

I'm just trying to make it a bit more transparent why this happens - again, I reiterate - if you don't like it, there are literally hundreds of services for weather you can use.

Basically I'm a half-American guy who lives in Mexico but works in Calexico, CA. So I use the foreign flair. I still consider myself American, but I grew up in Mexico.
